Established in 2006 The Spot Underground opened in late summer, 2011. The Spot originally started as an artistic collaborative on Thayer St, offering music, art, dance and yoga lessons within an art gallery devoted to local artwork. The music end of the business took off at the same time that many live music venues were closing in the area, so we decided to open a live music version of the spot. We feature a full bar, great food created by artists, artworks by over 35 artists and sculptors, and live original music every day (Tues-Sat every week... some Sundays and some Mondays... please see website for schedule). Art/sketch classes once a month, comedy events at least once a month.

Musically: Touring acts, Regional acts, and popular Local acts all perform here. It is a very comfortable setting for a show, very home-like and warm. Many different seating areas, a giant horseshoe-shaped bar with seating, high top tables, a dance pit, window seats, sectionals, armchairs, a fireplace and a fishtank!
